Dry-Spice ... Setting a New Standard in Flavor Preservation

How to Use Dry-Spice:

Simply place one canister (do not open canister) in each spice container to be treated, then push or shake the canister into the middle of the container.
If you are adding a Dry-Spice canister to a jar of spices that has already been affected by moisture it will take a few days to remove the moisture from the contents. Over the next couple of days shake the canister around in the jar to keep re-distributing the spices. Watch, and taste as they regain their original, pristine condition. You can expect each canister of Dry-Spice to treat up to 5oz. of product for up to1 year or more (this will vary depending on conditions).

Helpful Suggestions:
- We recommend finding a use for all 10 of the Dry-Spice canisters found in each package immediately after opening the sealed package in order to take full advantage of their benefits. If you do not use all the canisters at once be sure to close the re-sealable ‘zip-seal’ on the bag thoroughly and quickly to ensure the remaining canisters stay as fresh as possible. If you have a vacuum sealer, vacuum-pack the re-sealable bag in one of your vacuum-sealer bags. The reasoning behind this is that Dry-Spice is very hungry for moisture and will absorb any it can find...either from the air or your spices. For this reason Dry-Spice should be guarded against any moisture as long and effectively as possible, until it is time for it to go to work.

- For the best results add Dry-Spice to fresh, dry ingredients and keep in a container with a tight fitting lid or other closure. Though you can certainly add Dry-Spice to the spices you already have on your shelf and it will remove the moisture and provide all the benefits that Dry-Spice offers. However, it will ‘use-up’ the absorption properties a bit faster and need to be replaced a bit sooner.

- If you have a container that holds more than 5 ounces of product just add more canisters accordingly.

Use Dry-Spice With:

All Herbs & Spices!
While Dry-Spice produces a very satisfying and practical effect concerning caking and clumping, we believe it’s greatest benefit is in its ability to preserve the flavors of spices...which is why we are using spices in the first place, is it not? So don’t limit the use of Dry-Spice to granular and powdered spices...it is just as important to use it with leafy herbs such as rosemary, thyme, oregano and bay leaves, to preserve their flavors (next time you have to crumble bay leaves see how much easier it is after using Dry-Spice). Saffron for instance, very costly and very vulnerable to excessive moisture. These are just the beginning of a list that goes on and on.
O
ne of Dry-Spices' most important benefits is when it is used with those spices that don't get used very often. When added to spices that are stored over longer periods of time, Dry-Spice keeps working, preserving their quality, flavor and texture...so when you do need them, they are ready to fulfill your expectations. Avoid yet another unexpected trip to the market when your short on time as it is!

Spice Jars with Grinders
There seems to be an ever increasing number of whole spices available in spice jars with grinders already attached to the top...we love the idea! Dry-Spice works safely and effectively in these wonderful containers. Due to the shape of the Dry-Spice canister it can not get caught up in the grinding mechanism of these jars or effect the way the spices are ground. While the flavor is preserved, the spices stay dry so they grind better and last longer...saving you money. You can also use it in your regular pepper & salt grinders with complete confidence. So grind away!

Sugar
Dry-Spice keeps sugar free of lumps, hardening, and the over-all deterioration that takes place when any 'dry' ingredient is exposed to excessive moisture. You won't be disappointed!

Bouillon
When was the last time you found that your dry bouillon cubes or granules had become gooey and sticky? Dry-Spice keeps the concentrated flavors of your favorite 'instant stock' in the pristine condition it was made, ready to dissolve quickly and measure accurately. Filled with the intense, original flavors and aromas they were created to deliver.

Yeast, Grains, Bran,
Oats, germs, brans, meals and dry yeast, essentials for robust baking, can lose their effectiveness, nutritional value and deep earthy flavors when exposed to excessive moisture. Cornmeal, polenta, oat and wheat bran, dried malts and extracts, especially instant oatmeals and dried cereals...they all need protection from excessive moisture.

Nuts & Seeds
Ahh nuts! The natural oils contained in nuts can become rancid quickly if stored in compromising conditions. Walnuts, almonds, peanuts, pecans, etc. all need to be kept dry in order to preserve their hearty flavors and desirable texture. Kept in a tightly sealed container along with Dry-Spice you can be assured that their fine qualities will stay intact over a longer period of time.
Dry-Spice preserves the flavor and texture of seeds! Mustard, sesame, caraway, pumpkin, poppy, sunflower, flax, allspice berries, you name it!

Candies & Chocolates
Jelly Beans stuck together? Not any more! From hard candies to candy coated chocolates, Dry-Spice keeps sweets from getting soft, sticking together, and just plain lossing their flavors and appropriate textures. Costly boxed chocolates stay in their pristine, delicate condition when stored with Dry-Spice. Even individually wrapped candies benefit from staying as dry as possible!
One of our favorite uses for Dry-Spice is when we store jelly beans, fruit jellies, and "gummy" candies with a Dry-Spice canister and they go a bit beyond staying dry...meaning some of the moisture within the candy actually gets absorbed by Dry-Spice, hence concentrating the flavor a bit more than normal, providing an enhanced burst of strong flavor from your favorite sweets. Try experimenting a bit.

Dried Chili Peppers
Keep the flavor & heat of your favorite chilis intact by storing them with a canister of Dry-Spice. The best way to keep them 'fresh' is to keep them 'dry'!

Dried Mushrooms, Peppers & Tomatoes
These are just waiting for the moisture that's needed to release the intense flavors hidden within, but you don't want that before you're ready to cook. To keep the flavors locked inside until you want them, you need to keep the moisture out of them. Dry-Spice is designed to do just that.

Teas
Tea rapidly loses its potency and savory flavors when not kept as dry as possible. If you buy bulk teas or any tea that is not packaged in individually wrapped foil packets you will be delighted with the preserving benefits of Dry-Spice.

Coffee
Whether you buy whole beans or pre-ground it is imperative that coffee is kept as dry as possible to preserve its carefully crafted flavors and aromas. It is especially important to keep 'instant' coffee very dry as it is extremely susceptible to excessive moisture and can quickly begin to deteriorate and 'melt' when stored for any length of time. Dry-Spice solves this problem.

Chips, Crackers and Snacks
Your favorite morsels will stay fresher far longer when you use Dry-Spice. Just make sure you close the package as tightly as possible while storing and remember to retrieve the canister from the empty package for another use before you throw it away.

Vitamins
Vitamins are very susceptible to rapid deterioration when exposed to excessive moisture, quickly losing their vitality and effectiveness without detection. Dry-Spice keeps your vitamins fresh and potent, enabling them to deliver their full benefits over a longer period of time.

Medications
Medications and Prescriptions need to be kept dry and fresh to maintain their potency and effectiveness, just as vitamins do. Dry-Spice eliminates those concerns and ensures reliability.
